Joy Express
Joy verse:
1Th 5:16 Rejoice evermore.****
1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Joy Note:
Being joyful ever-more may be hard to do unless we take time to look for the joy. =
Often we look at our circumstances and our surroundings and miss the joy that is in the will of God concerning us.
How can we find joy in the midst of chaos?
We can pray to see and feel the joy-
we can choose joy and we can thank God for the joy-(even in moments of sorrow.)
Joy is not only found in happy times. There is joy to be found in most circumstances.
Joy is in small blessings that we often fail to see.
Red lights bring joy because without them we could not cross the street.
Let us spend some time finding our joy and embracing our joy this year.
Take out some time to laugh and have some fun in little ways. Take time to spread some joy- be a joy germ.
Again take time to rejoice- and thank God for your joy.
Next time you stop at at a red light remember that it will be followed by a green light. Enjoy the moment.
Joy Sprinkle
--what a gift it is to find joy in the small things.
Joy Laugh-----Reverend Billy Graham tells of a time early in his ministry when he arrived in a small town to preach a sermon. Wanting to mail a letter, he asked a young boy where the post office was. When the boy had told him, Dr. Graham thanked him and said, "If you'll come to the Baptist Church this evening, you can hear me telling everyone how to get to heaven." The boy replied, "I don't think I'll be there... You don't even know your way to the post office.
"Joy Gem: Leave everything a little more joyful than you found it.

be an answer to some one's prayer
- there are times in my life when I have heard a prayer
- request for someone
- and realized that I can help with the request....
- beyond praying
- but I have learned that I must be
- silent to hear God's voice-
- we want to do things for God and
- we want to hear Him
- but often we want to do big things
- and take the credit too and
- do things our way ----
- when all He is asking us to do
- is be part of the answer to some one's prayer
- this little quote makes me think ...
- It is not the things that can be bought that are life's richest treasure;
- It is the little heart gifts that money cannot measure.
- take time to day to hear
- what God needs you to do for Him.
- SERVE ONE ANOTHER IN LOVE.-GALATIANS 5:13 NIV
WHAT HEART GIFT CAN YOU GIVE SOME ONE TODAY-BE STILL AND HEAR WHAT GOD SAYS.

Up,up and Away
Up. Up and Away
I remember when I was a kid we had a book called ''Up, Up and Away or fairly close to that title. The book was one of our first readers and we would read all about Dick and Jane and a dog named Spot and Puff the cat. And of course, father and mother and baby sister.
They were fun readers and through them brother Bill and I learned to read and go on many adventures- Books were our television and we read something everyday. We also listened to the radio and enjoyed all kinds of stories and songs. Our world was small but our imaginations were not.
I still read everyday and although I do not have the radio on often now I listen to the television and get my work done at the same time. It is hard for our Miss Sidney to understand how I do not need to see the pictures.
Faith is not seeing the pictures but believing God's word. Faith lifts the soul. Faith is born with in the heart.
---------------------------------------------------
Patience:
''Things have a way of working out.
''My father used to say.
''Do your best-And work and wait and pray.
How many times those words return?
When life's a tangled thread-
''Just do your best, today, and leave
To God the days ahead-
Some where our Master planner works,
Though how we may not know,
Things will work out
The Bible says it is so( Helen Lowrie Marshall)

A CLEAN HOUSE--
I remember when I first became a Christian I kept hearing the Lord telling me to clean my house-
Now some of you will know that am a happy carefree kind of housekeeper and I do what I can when I can and leave the rest.
Some might even think that I am a sloppy house keeper but Dogman has not fired me yet.
But now back to the Lord's words- Clean up your house! I wanted to obey Him but being challenged in organizing; it was very hard do - I was worried about pleasing him but I was not too happy about cleaning house either- However I decided to obey.
One day, when I went down stairs I discovered that our basement had sprung a leak and all the books that I had stored down there were wet and moldy- They were stored in cardboard boxes which acted as sponges and absorbed water and the books became useless , moldy and smelled bad.
Because books are one of my favorite things and I had many books that I had read or was going to read I was disappointed- Before I was a Christian I read anything that had words. As I was cleaning up the mess and taking books up stairs to send off to the garbage dump I discovered a particular thing-
Books that I had collected over the years that were Christian were not destroyed and yet the books from the secular world were completely damaged- I knew then what the Lord was telling me and I went through all my books upstairs and removed the useless world's books and kept the Christian books which became blessings.
We took all the books to a friends house and had a huge bonfire. I still have many of the Christian books in my bookshelves and they do not smell of mold and are healthy enough to read again and again-
Sometimes we do not understand why God is telling us to do something but when we act out of obedience He answers us in blessings. Now my bookshelves are clean and so His/our my house-
Dust bunnies don't count- :-).
Heb 13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Do not look.........
The Lord said to Samuel,
'Do not look at his appearance or at his physical statue, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7
We live in a world that is geared by beauty and seeking beauty. Commercials only show the perfect bodies and faces. Magazines nag us to hide or change our flaws. We are told to exercise to re-shape and to buy lotions and makeup that promise to make us look younger.
According to the world's view we can never be too perfect. The newest fashion in clothes is the must have. Surgery is the easy answer to fix what we don't like. We do these things at a high expense to our mental health and yet most of us are not satisfied with what we still see in the mirror.
The Bible tells us that we are made in the image of God and that He fashioned us. He created us as He wanted and made each of us special. We can try to improve our beauty by all these things but only God can create a new heart. We can make ourselves into a person of beauty when we remember that what is inside is what will show outwardly. If you want to be beautiful, believe that you are wonderfully made.
"Do not let your adornment be merely outward-arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel, rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. 1 Peter 3:3-4 NKJV
The next time the world's mirror tell you that you are too fat, too skinny, too tall. too short, or you"fill in the blanks''. Remember: His hands have made you and fashioned you. Praise Him because you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

pocket stories
- this blog is where I write stories that are short and sweet
- based on things that I have learned
- as I grow up in the Lord
- they will be Christian based
- with a story and message
- and many times with a Bible verse
- the stories are from my heart
- I am starting this blog
- to bless others.
- I will write the stories from my heart
- It is my prayer that
- the stories will be a blessing
- to many ...
- there will be some facts and
- some fiction-
- generally I will not say which is which
- unless it is important to the story
- enjoy and you may pass my stories to others
- but please leave my name
- with the story
